What is it? |
Wireless CCTV cameras can transmit pictures and sound to a Tv/Video up to 100 metres away without the need to run any cables between them. |
How does it work? |
They use the very latest Government approved 2.4GHz microwave frequency to transmit the pictures and sound from the camera to the receiver (which then plugs in to the Tv/Video), this frequency allows for a maximum possible distance between receiver and camera of 100 metres (300 feet) line of sight, however through walls & ceilings the range can be reduced to 50 metres in extreme circumstances.

Our wireless systems have 4 selectable channels that they transmit on, which means you can have up to 4 wireless cameras per site, however for best results we recommend you only use 3 channels, as this way the chances of receiving interference (which all wireless systems may suffer from) are minimised.
There is no limit to the number of Receivers that can be used per site, since these just receive signals and do not transmit them. |
Where should it be used? |
We offer 3 different types of wireless systems, each type is designed for a specific purpose:
Entry Level: The entry level wireless range offers good quality observation for low risk applications like watching a baby's nursery or a blind spot in a small shop.
High Resolution: The high resolution wireless range offers professional picture quality day or night. The systems are designed for surveillance in low risk to medium risk environments such as offices. Ideal uses would be to watch a vehicle in a driveway or the till, stock room or reception area.
Covert Spy Cameras: The covert range offers instant covert surveillance (audio and video) of any area in an office, house or commercial premises. Our covert cameras are designed to be undetectable to the average person and can be battery powered for portable use. Allowing them to be carried around a building or simply sited somewhere discreetly and then received on a Tv or Video nearby. |

If Wireless CCTV is so good, why do you sell Wired CCTV systems? |
We get asked this alot, the reason is that while wireless systems are ideal for some customers they have the following limitations which wired systems overcome:
The maximum number of cameras recommended on a wireless system is only 3, making it only really suitable for use in homes and very small commercial premises, wired systems can have over 100 cameras per site on them! |
Wireless systems can pick up interference, since wireless systems are designed for use by homes and small businesses in low risk situations the fact that they can sometimes pick up interference is outweighed by the convenience they offer, however in a high risk environment you would not want there to be any interference as it may occur during a critical time such as when a robbery is taking place. Wired systems do not suffer from any interference so overcome this problem. |
Wireless systems do not offer a wide choice of cameras and are limited to 420 TVL resolution, where as wired systems offer up to 600 TVL resolution and are available in a variety of formats with many additional features.
