What is it?

Wired CCTV cameras are designed for permanent installation in all types of premises. They offer zero interference and can be sited up to 1500 metres away from the recording/viewing equipment.

How does it work?

The required number of cameras are located in the areas of the building that require CCTV and then they are cabled back to a control point (the location where the recording or monitoring equipment is located).

In larger systems there is normally more then 1 control point and the systems can also be connected to the Internet allowing live viewing and playback of the cameras from almost anywhere in the world.

Which brands of Wired CCTV systems do you sell?

The majority of our Wired CCTV products are manfactured by x-vision CCTV systems, we are one of the only direct importers of the x-vision range in the UK, and have found that they offer a massive range of excellent quality equipment at affordable prices. They use the very latest technology from the worlds best known manufacturers, Sony, Panasonic, Samsung etc... to create class leading products, and back it all up with guarantees of up to 2 years.

What types of cameras do you offer, and what are they designed for?

We offer 8 different types of wired cameras, each type is designed for a specific purpose:

Entry Level Cameras: Entry level cameras use the very latest CMOS sensor which offers good picture quality and outstanding value for money. They are designed for use in low risk areas and are ideal for general observation in and around homes and small businesses.

Bullet Cameras: Bullet cameras are designed for internal or external high resolution surveillance. They are very discreet when used externally and very stylish when used internally. They are built around a high resolution Sony CCD which produces great quality images.

Dome Cameras: We offer three different types of dome cameras, all are Colour and are built around a Sony CCD. The VIS200D uses a 1/4” Sony Digital CCD, which offers 420 TVL resolution and is fitted with a 60° Wide Angle Lens, and the VIS238D uses the very latest 1/3” Sony Super HAD CCD, which offers a stunning 480TVL resolution, 0.1 lux low light sensitivity and is fitted with an extremely versatile 3.5 to 8.0mm Auto Iris Varifocal Lens (can be adjusted to the exact viewing angle required during installation for optimum picture quality), making it perfect for use in difficult lighting conditions, such as in bars, pubs, and supermarkets etc... For external use we offer the VIS504/6/12 range which is vandal resistant and offer 480TVL resolution, it can be wall or ceiling mounted and features a choice of lens angles as well as 10 metres Infra Red nightvision.

Traditional Cameras: Traditional Style Cameras act as an instant deterrent to criminals and are very flexible, which is why they are popular with many professional CCTV installers, they are available in a variety of variations, with a choice of lenses, brackets, housings & infra red lighting.

Day/Night Cameras: The UK’s original and best selling Colour IR Day/Night Camera range. These cameras offer excellent colour vision during the day or in a lit room and up to 80 metres (depending on model) B/W vision in complete darkness (at night or when the lights are turned off), no additional light source is needed as the cameras have built in Infra Red LEDs which turn on only when the camera automatically detects it is dark. The cameras emit infra red light when in night/dark mode, to the human eye this type of light is invisible, however to the camera the light is clearly visible, making it ideal for both covert use, and where neighbours or the environment (such as a busy road) may not allow the use of cameras with visible lighting.

Covert Cameras: These cameras are designed for internal covert (hidden) audio video surveillance of rooms & offices.

Pan Tilt Zoom Cameras: We offer a Pan & Tilt camera for viewing large areas that a single camera cannot cover, and a Pan Tilt Zoom Vandal Resistant camera which offers discreet robust styling and a zoom function for extra detail.

Speed Dome Cameras: The ultimate cameras, these feature Pan Tilt & Zoom with a high speed motor allowing the camera to move at 120 degrees per second and powerful zoom function up to 27x optical and are recommended for all high risk applications requiring the ultimate in security.

What resolution cameras should I choose?

Camera resolution is measured in TV Lines (TVL), the higher the TVL of a camera the more definition and resolution it will give. The resolution of the camera you require will depend on what you are watching, for example if you are looking at entrances, the movement of people or other large objects, then you can use an entry level standard resolution camera (330 to 370 TVL), if you are watching what people are doing such as shoplifting, then you should use high resolution cameras (380 to 470 TVL). For situations where you are trying to watch extremely small details/ movement or where superior quality results are required, you will need to use Super High Resolution cameras (480 to 600 TVL).
